Dr. Thomas Treseder
Mr. Treseder is an orthopaedic surgeon practicing at Parkville Orthopaedics. He holds the postition of staff orthopaedic surgeon at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in addition to his work with us at the Melbourne Private Hospital. He has subspecialty training in the areas of general orthopaedics, trauma reconstruction and upper limb orthopaedics. He has practiced as an orthopaedic surgeon at several high volume orthopaedic centres including The Alfred Hospital and the Royal London Hospital in addition to the Royal Melbourne Hospital. His post fellowship training included fellowships in the United Kingdom and France with upper limb arthroscopy surgeon Mr Philippe Collin. He is a lecturer at the University of Melbourne medical school in the areas of fracture management and trauma management, upper limb orthopaedics and the management of arthritis.
He is has multiple international publications and presentation awards in the areas of rotator cuff injury and periscapular nerve dysfunction. He is involved in training orthopaedic surgeons through the Royal Australian College of Surgeons and also several foundation based orthopaedic education institutes.
His areas of research include trauma reconstruction of upper limb injuries , rotator cuff surgery and shoulder dislocation surgery results. He is a 'high volume' surgeon in the areas of severe elbow, shoulder and wrist fractures including complex reconstructions of glenoid, scapula and shoulder girdle fractures.
Mr Treseder consults monday to friday 9 AM to 5PM and is oncall on a rotating roster at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Melbourne Private Hospital. Once a month on a thursday he consults in Gisborne at the Aiken St medical Centre.
He operates privately only at the Melbourne Private Hospital.
